Bare Shoulders

“This is a trend that every woman can wear with confidence. The shoulders on a woman of any size or shape are beautiful, so don’t hesitate to invest in a softly draped top or dress that shows a bit of shoulder. Stay away from tight Spandex tops and dresses with shoulder cutouts as those are much too harsh for spring. Keep it sophisticated and delicate.”

Bailey44 top, $174, Tracy Reese pants, $298, Frances Valentine sandals, $295, Kendra Scott necklace, $90. All from Halls on Grand in Crown Center.

The Dramatic Sleeve

“While I love that shoulder-baring tops and dresses are back for another round, I’m most excited to see the resurgence of dramatic sleeves. Everything from bold cuffs to “bell” sleeves will be back this spring. Pair with your favorite shorts, denim or fitted skirts to balance the fullness of the top. There is something about a full sleeve that feels confident and powerful.”
— Kathryn Snellen, creative consultant, kathrynelisestudio.com

Italian cotton seersucker jacket, $895, Julie Cohn necklace, $450. Both from Asiatica in Westwood.

The New Neutrals

“When I shop for clients or pull clothes for a shoot, I am always on the lookout for the basic neutrals we all know and love—black, white, cream, etc. However, don’t be afraid to incorporate blush into your wardrobe. Not bubble-gum pink but blush, a neutral tone that looks beautiful on any skin tone. It’s a must-have in your wardrobe!”
— Amani Skalacki, stylist, skaladesigns.com

Cream D’Orsay tunic, $99, cream D’Orsay skirt, $110,  blush scarf, $79. All from Peruvian Connection in the Crestwood Shops. Superga sneakers, $59.90, from Bob Jones Shoes.

FA_ProsKnow_8Robe Dressing and Mules

“We saw the “pajama” trend here in the Midwest last year, but I predict it will play a bigger role in fashion this season. Think silky shift dresses and my personal favorite, effortless shirt and robe dresses that tie at the waist. I love how romantic the lightweight material moves and shows off a woman’s figure, plus this look works for office-to-evening outings. The perfect investment piece for any occasion!”

“As someone who is constantly on-the-go for work, comfortable and chic shoes are a must, which is why I love seeing flat mules playing the lead in shoes for spring. I definitely will be picking out a neutral pair for everyday work outings and a pair in metallic for extra flair.”
— Kathryn Snellen, creative consultant, kathrynelisestudio.com

Ganni dress, $205, Illesteva sunglasses, $177, Rag & Bone mules, $375, Malene Birger cuff, $295. All from Standard Style on the Country Club Plaza and in Town Center Crossing.
