SoT, which stands for south of Truman, brings elevated cocktails and seasonal small plates to the Crossroads Arts District, where it officially opened for business this week. The cocktails, which will change according to season, are created by bar manager Erik Mariscal, who previously worked at Local Pig in Westport.
The bar seats about 40, with 12 taps and a drink list that includes beer, wine and bubbly. Notable cocktails include the Tiki Cocktail, one of Mariscal’s specialties, which is made with Plantation dark rum, Allspice Dram, house macadamia/almond orgeat, lime, spicy ginger syrup and Peychaud’s bitters.
The Smoky Cocktail is also intriguing, with Plantation pineapple rum, Montenegro amaro, house coffee bitters, Koval Ginger-smoked banana leaves, black tea, an orange peel and cinnamon.
SoT’s small plates menu, by chef Mark Dandurand, features dishes such as lamb meatballs, crawfish toast and tomato salad. The menu’s dessert options include a chocolate torte, a seasonal fruit tart and rotating flavors of Glace ice cream.
The bar is open daily from 2 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., with happy hour from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
