Crab pasta, shrimp toast and bacon sliders: There’s a lot to love about the new menu items at Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar. The Country Club Plaza restaurant recently added 13 new dishes and two cocktails to its happy hour menu, which can be enjoyed at any table—not just the lounge.
Chef Theresia Ota expanded Jax’s raw bar to include shrimp toast and BBQ catfish sandwiches, served on a house-made bun with banana peppers and grilled onions. Ota also incorporated non-seafood options, like cheese curds, bacon sliders and potatoes bravas, which feature a lemon rosemary vinaigrette. Other items include steamed mussels, seafood sausage, caviar and ceviche tostadas.
The dessert menu also got an update with the addition of spiced peanut caramel corn, fresh chocolate chip cookies and a brownie sundae topped with smoked pecans, vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.
Diners can sip on one of two new cocktails—a classic margarita or the Gin Rickey, made of gin, lime juice and soda water.
Jax’s happy hour menu is available Tuesday through Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday through Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m., and all night on Mondays.
